Electrocochleography

Electrocochleography (ECochG)

Electrocochleography (ECochG) is a diagnostic test that measures electrical potentials generated in the inner ear in response to sound stimuli. By placing electrodes near the eardrum or in the ear canal, ECochG records responses from the cochlea and auditory nerve. This test is particularly useful for diagnosing conditions like Meniere's disease, assessing cochlear function, and evaluating auditory nerve disorders. ECochG provides critical information for accurate diagnosis and tailored treatment of hearing and balance issues.
